Social Conservatives are hypocrits, yes or no?
They think in terms of ideals, instead of realistic. I think we can all agree that it would be wonderful if we lived in a world where there was no unwanted pregnancy, where children were only conceived by well employed, happy, healthy couples. However, those of us who realize that life is not a fairy tale and that is never going to be the case realize that it's one or the other. You have to allow people to have abortions, or you're going to have to implement some social programs to help those who need it. It's all fine and good to say people should take responsibility for their actions, but the child is also going to end up paying the price when they're born to parents who resent their birth, and are unable to care for them properly and don't take them to the hospital when they're sick because they don't have insurance. And not all unwanted children in this world are adopted. There's not a whole lot of middle class families scrambling to adopt aids or crack babies. Many of them are shuffled around (often abusive) foster homes. And that's with abortion LEGAL. Can you imagine how many more there would be if it were illegal?

No offense but, hypocrite is spelled with an e on th end if you care.

Reply:I think that the social conservatives you speak of want people to be responsible for their own actions, which means not having unprotected sex if you can not afford to have a baby. The answer should be that the baby should be out up for adoption if you are unable to care for it. I am mostly conservative, but I am pro choice. And I am against welfare programs that do nothing to motivate people to take care of themselves.
Reply:No. Social conservatives do not support GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS that encourage women to have their babies instead of abortion. They support programs made by private foundations. Thats is what conservatism is about : smaller government. Why would the government waste more money on government programs when tons of private foundations have programs for pregnant women.

Reply:All of the Conservatives that I know including myself do not support abortion. That is one of the many liberal problems. Get it straight!
Reply:Sometimes I'm liberal; sometimes I'm conservative. I can't understand why we have to give each other these titles. Are some people actually always liberal and anything goes? Are some so conservative that they would have us all living in a Theocracy? You betcha! But they are so few that they are irrelevant. Why do we allow the media and politicians to use them to keep the rest of us divided? It's just disheartening to see this country suffering from such ideological paralysis to the extent that we are actually having our country stolen right out from under our feet. AND WE DO NOTHING.
