Social policy to a case study?
The whole university fees debate. Maybe including sense of self worth (i couldn't afford it so I'm gonna sit and resent people that could, maybe taking that resentment out on family members), older generations resenting younger, or even class resentment. Financial implications for the generations above and below due to resultant job security. etc etc
Do families want to suffer tax rises to pay for egghead students when money is tight in most cases already. Leading to learning standards slipping, and then general society skills slipping. Possible reduction of imported business as a result, leading to job cuts, decreased family income in certain geographical areas, less tax money for education, other social projects, etc

To be honest I'm doing myself a favour. I've got a similar study coming up in the future. Now i can just look at what I wrote here lol
