Social Security Benefits if you remarry after 62?

My mom is drawing on my father's social security benefits as a widow. She and my "step-father" have been together for 11 years (they are not married). He draws on his own social security. My mom is 63 and he is 69. If they were to actually marry would they still be able to draw both social security amounts (my father's and my step father's) or would they only get the higher of the two?

Social Security Benefits if you remarry after 62?
Yes, they are both entitled to draw their social security. Since they are not married, they have to file separate income tax and neither would lose any benefits. They do not even give married couples one check together. Each has earned their own and must draw what they paid in on.

Hope this answers your question. ...lol :)
Reply:Im pretty sure she gets one or the other.
