two weeks ago i decided to get social security number;
after some paper work they gave me a paper and they said
wait for 2 weeks and the social security number will be mailed to your
address . now this two weeks past and there's no social security number . i wanted to inform them about it but the problem is that i lost the paper that they gave me what should i do

Call 1-800-772-1213 to rectify the issue. You may have been scammed by someone claiming to be social security.
Reply:It may take up to six weeks to get it. They had a holiday in there so that will set them back a bit.
Reply:Two weeks is an estimated time frame. If you were not born in this country and this is your first card, it will be about 8 weeks. Your information is sent to Homeland Security and your Social Security Card is issued after clearance is received from them.
