I will be graduating next month with a degree in social work. But as a student (and one in social work), I don't have the money or the facilities to have a big expensive celebration. Instead, we'll have a party @ a city park. In order to decrease some of my family's costs and to make it a little more fun, I want to make it a potluck and ask each person to bring something that's graduation or social work-related-- for example "whine" instead of "wine," or Hamburger Helper (of course, HH probably isn't the best for a picnic). Does anyone have any ideas about this? Phrasing, food ideas, etc? Thanks a bunch!

Hello everyone come and join us at the Social event of the season! 2pm at the city park on April 26th! We are having a Social Working theme so please bring a side or meal of your choice! I will be providing a "Case" of beer (or soda) so please join in on the fun!
have sociable crackers there. Some cheeses, make a pasta helper with tons of veggies and a vinagrette sauce. Have fun with it.
Reply:Congratulations on your milestone. You could have everyone bring something in a brown paper bag, then use them as your placemats. Make a past salad out of whatever you have in the fridge - that should be an interesting salad and speaks to those who have to make do with what they have.
