Why is it that my parents 44 and 45 have paid into social security since they were 15 or 16 but are projected to get nothing from social security since it will be bankrupt by the time they are old enough but illegal immigrants who have never paid into it manage to get money from social security?
Did you know that illegal immigrants according to the lowest estimates you the taxpayers 338.3 BILLION DOLLARS!!

I was told the same thing back when I was your parents age. I'm now 74 and have been collecting my SS, which I began paying in to when I was 14, for over 12 years now. You've been fed a lot of mis-information about SS, benefits will be paid for as long as can be seen into the future. No illegal immigrants that have not paid into the system will draw SS benefits. All this information can be obtained from the SS administration if you'll take the time to make inquiries. Don't listen to people who's agenda is to demoralize America. Good luck

1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program

Reply:Good question. I don't think SS will be dissolved when your parents get old enough to receive SS checks. But the government has been using the money from SS to pay for wars, military industrial corporate complex run ups in the budget, to pay for subsidies and grants to multi billion dollar profiting corporations who already have huge tax write offs and offshore accounts to hide their earnings and other accounting places to hide it. Our government started doing this under Ronald Reagan. People who consider him the greatest president are clearly ignorant and delusional. But brace yourself because Bush's North American Union are going to bring up more illegals to suck our tax dollars and jobs from us and we are currently in a war that will also suck up our taxes. And, it is Bush that wants to extend Social Security to illegals, as per the article I list down below. But then again, shouldn't people who pay into the system also receive the benefits no matter where they are from? I know I sound a little contradictory here but it's not an easy issue.

If nothing is done for the next 36 years, until the trust runs out, Social Security will still be able to pay 70–80% of promised benefits just from normal payroll taxes. Second, if you want to call that bankrupt then private accounts will go bankrupt in 2025. Of course, neither is true, the government will just borrow the money and/or raise taxes. It just needs several trillion more under private accounts.
How accurate is "2041"?
Not very accurate. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the trust won't run out till 2052, and the SSA makes a wide range of estimates with 2041 listed as most likely. But even some of the President's own OMB uses more optimistic economic forecasts.
At the end of 2025 the combined Social Security Trusts will contain $ 3,772,800,000,000.
Reply:I'm am a human being first and an American second. I personally don't care that my money is aiding an illegal. I don't believe that it is right to enter the country illegally but I do believe that these people are here and because of that they deserve to become apart of the system. If my money can aid them or any other person who benafits from my taxes, I support it 110%.
Reply:You need to tidy up your facts. The SOCIAL SECURITY Administration has made NO such projection concerning your parents. Rush Limbaugh and a number of Right-leaning special interest groups have predicted that the system will go bankrupt using calculations and financial scenerios of their own choosing. This opinion was fostered in large part by the proponents of the President's now-tabled efforts to establish Retirement Savings Accounts through traditional banking, market, and investment mechanisms that promised better returns, as a means of gradually phasing out the current Social Security system.
Although I don't believe ILLEGAL aliens should draw from the funds due to the use of forged, doctored, and stolen credentials, the fact remains that many did, in fact, pay into the system and didn't claim refunds based on those payments because of the fear of getting caught. Others only used the SSN to GET a job and then quickly destroyed the phony documents. Meanwhile, payments were indeed being taken from their paychecks and added to the general fund.
Again, I'd have to be on the side of "denying" benefits to users of dubious credentials, so that would have to be a wash. But don't believe that they have not paid into the system.

Second, the only people who get social security are either citizens or foreigners who have paid into the system.

Reply:Most of that information, is used in the political arena, to scare the people , The truth is that most of the baby boomers,won't be her on earth the next 10 or 15 Years, they will pass away like myself, the government will have a real revolution on its hands, all a total lie, We give billions to buy friendship in South America, Africa, Mid East, Far East, European country's, even Arab Country's. All these country's have there own riches of there own, oil,gold , blood diamond's, silver ,copper, you name it ,But the leaders of all those country's are greedy , R.C.A. own by Japanese most Corporations now days are own by foreign country's, good old Quaker Oats, Hershey's most investors are from other country's, in all are corporations. Big business gave the Americans the business. They even have the nerve to put there money over seas in banks. if it gets bad the government will nationalize, if it affects are National Security.
