Using others social security numbers?

I have noticed that on some of these back ground check sites that you can enter peoples social security number to find info on them, however at our local court house we have computers that you can search through criminal records, it also has a way to search by social security number....however there is a sign and the system warns you that you cannot enter another persons social security number into the system


with out their knowledge and/or approval, says it's punishable by law. does this apply to all sites of this nature and why doent you see these warnings on these sites???

Yes, that does apply to most of the "background check" sites. Most of those sites cover their legal bases by burying that warning in their "Terms of Service", "Privacy Policy" or "Legal Disclaimer".
