Where are social security cards printed?

I called the social security office's 1-800 # and spoke with a lady who said that they (social security administrative workers) do not know where the applications for social security cards go once they leave their offices!

Now I'm curious...do they get printed in the state you live in? Or do they send EVERYONE (from every state) to one place?

I'm curious.

Thanks.

Where are social security cards printed?
Social security cards are made in Mexican basements, North Korean government offices and al Qa'ida training camps.

Everyone wants to be an American!

(Actually, it's not the cards that matter, it's the number. You can make them yourself, but the first time you try to use it you'll get caught.)
Reply:If I'm not mistaken, the cards themselves are usually printed in a Federal Government Branch Bulding in Washington,D.C. and then mailed to who ever they are supposed to go to after they are issued from the Social Security Adminstratives Offices in all the different States that are actually part of the United States itself.
