Why does Social Security always mess up your name?

When people apply or simply want to change the name on their social security card and they give all 4 of their names like Alberto Fransisco Matias Mendez, when in fact the name that should appear on the card should be Alberto Matias being that Mendez is the mothers maiden name or the name not commonly used. Why does Social Security always get it wrong? I remember not being able to get a drivers license because the name on my passport and the name on my social security card appeared differently. The worst part is when SS printed my first name and both of my last names which again delayed the process of my drivers license.

Reply:Because my name is spelled Pytreauklaeariawekolwicz.
Reply:The United States uses a first (or given) name and a last name. These should be specified on your birth certificate. All other names would be entered as middle name(s). If you are not consistent with how you complete the forms the results you get will also be inconsistent. it is not up to the SSA (or any other agency) to figure out the correct order of your names.
Reply:I've had no such problem. Maybe its just you!
Reply:they mess up more than just your name.
Reply:First Middle and Last names is what I've always thought were the correct ones - where do you get the information regarding only the first and last names?
