I'm looking for inroads into social work, advisory services and counselling positions.
I've spent 18 years working in customer based positions, to the point where i am qualified to provide sales team training, consultancy and mentoring.
However i feel (and have taken extensive advice on this) that i would get more, on a personal level, out of a social / advisory / counselling role. Which would use many of the existing 'people skills' i have developed along the way.
I am currently undergoing retraining: Open degree in social work. But i would like to secure an entry / intermidiate level position in this line of work.
Can anybody suggest an organisation that would consider such a placement on a full or part-time basis (paid work).
John.
Switching Careers (Social Work, Advisory Services, Counselling)?
John,
I am not knowledgable enough about your chosen field to offer the kind of advice you are looking for. I can, however, point you to a resource for preparing your resume (as a career changer).
It might offer some information that could be helpful.
Reply:Try the NHS website, there is loads of information on here regarding what you are looking for.
